Uruguayan midfielder Fabian Yantorno has left Gretna as the club are unable to fund his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
The 25-year-old started the season in fine form before being sidelined after the 2-0 win over Falkirk in mid-January and the club's financial problems now mean the South American will move on.
Caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth told the club's official website: "Fabian needs specialist rehabilitation which we can't provide.
"It was his and his agent's wish that he could be released so he could go elsewhere for treatment. We don't have the finance or the facilities to offer the care he needs."
Meanwhile, Wadsworth says that French duo Aurelien Collin and Mickael Buscher have also played their last games for the stricken SPL outfit.
He added: "They have exercised the right to try and find other clubs, whether FIFA allow them to do so I don't know, that's the chance they're prepared to take.
"I'm very disappointed to a degree, because Gretna gave them a great chance for nothing. but their contracts will probably be cancelled."
