Gretna assistant-manager Davie Irons is pleased the the SPL new boys have been given a home fixture to kick-off their first-ever top-flight season.
Last year's first division champions will begin their campaign with the visit of Falkirk to temporary home Fir Park, Motherwell on August 4.
Meanwhile, their first Old Firm meeting will be against Rangers at Ibrox on September 1.
"It's a good start for us and we're pleased we have a home tie to begin with," Irons told the club's official website.
"We have a couple of tough ties away to Hibs and away to Hearts following that, but that's what we're in this league for.
"When you see Gretna's name alongside Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Hibs, it's exciting.
"It was quite surreal after we won the first division because although we were in the SPL, there was nothing tangible to show for it.
"But now our name is up with the top 11 teams in Scotland and that is a wonderful sight to see."
