Gretna chairman Ron McGregor believes the club will survive despite being threatened with closure due to a cash crisis.

The already-relegated SPL club's existence has been in doubt following the decision to enter administration on March 12.

Owner Brooks Mileson's decision to withdraw financial support led to the crisis, but McGregor believes the Black & Whites will survive after finding a new buyer.

When asked if a May 8 meeting with creditors will lead to the winding up of the club, he said: "I do not expect that to happen.

"We are optimistic a buyer will be found and we are keeping all our hopes alive to try to soldier on."
