Weston may return

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping to have Curtis Weston back in his injury-hit squad to face Lincoln. Gills only have 17 fit players in their first-team squad and Hessenthaler reckons Weston could make a return from a thigh injury. He told the club's official website: "I think Curtis Weston is the only player likely to return to contention for Saturday's game. He hasn't done a lot of training, though, so whether we would risk starting him, I don't know." The game will come too soon for Cody McDonald (ankle), Barry Fuller (knee) and Mark McCammon (hamstring) but they have all been pencilled in to return against Morecambe next week. Jack Payne (dead leg) and Stanley Aborah (thigh) are also on the mend but are short of match fitness. Hessenthaler also revealed Garry Richards and Simon King are closing in on a return but Danny Jackman is facing surgery on his knee problem. He added: "Garry Richards is working nicely but still hasn't done any training with the first team. Simon King is gradually getting better but Danny Jackman has a problem with his knee that may need keyhole surgery."
