Stimson sad to lose Daniels

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has failed to persuade left winger Charlie Daniels to extend his loan stay at the Priestfield Stadium.

The 22-year-old has opted to return to Tottenham after making five first-team appearances for the Gills since joining the League Two club last month.

Stimson told the club's official website: "I'm disappointed that he's decided to go back to Tottenham but I thank him for his time here and wish him all the best for the future."

Daniels has still to make his first-team debut for Spurs but made 37 appearances during a season-long loan spell at Leyton Orient last term.
