Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is pleased to have been able to bring former Southend United striker James Walker to the club on transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-old terminated his contract at Roots Hall to become a free agent and quickly agreed a move to the Priestfield Stadium.
Stimson told the club's official website: "Over the last 18 months he hasn't played as often as he'd have liked, but I'm very much looking forward to working with him.
"He's a player that can add something to our frontline. James will compete straight away for a starting position and hopefully do enough to turn that three month contract into a long-term deal."
