Stimson eyes Jackson recall

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is pondering handing a recall to leading scorer Simeon Jackson, who has been dropped to the bench in recent weeks.

The 21-year-old has netted 14 times for the Gills this term, but Stimson felt that he needed a rest to regain top form.

He told the Kent Messenger: "He just has to be patient.

"Over the next four or five weeks there are so many games and I can't see him not getting involved and getting back out there scoring goals, which is what he loves doing.

"It was a bold move, but sometimes you have to make decisions that you think are right for the football club.

"Whether he needs to come back in now only time will tell, but he isn't far off because his training is brilliant.

"You can see he's been rested now and he has that little bit of freshness back in him."
