Stimson enjoys Gills victory

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson was full of praise for his patched-up side after they secured a 1-0 victory at Macclesfield Town.

An Adam Miller goal proved decisive at Moss Rose, with the Gills now only four points off top spot in League Two after the win in Cheshire.

Stimson told the club's official website: "It was important to take the lead. The last time we did that was at Darlington and we went on to win that game.

"Credit to all the players, I thought all of them put in a great performance and put every ounce of effort into the game.

"It was a good gritty performance and at stages I thought we looked very good on the break."
