Stimson thankful to have Jackson

The first league meeting in nearly 30 years between these sides looked to be heading for a stalemate until the Addicks took the lead on 79 minutes thanks to a disastrous own-goal from Gills left-back John Nutter. Stimson said: "Before the game I would've taken a point but after the way we played I'm pretty disappointed to be honest. The own goal made it difficult for us but we reacted well and kept plugging away to get the equaliser we deserved. "Nutter would have been distraught to have scored the own goal but he and all the other lads have shown the character they have once again. "But thank God for Simeon because once again he's gone and taken the only chance he's had all game and got us a well deserved point."
