Stimson salutes Jackson's attitude

The 14-goal hitman has not scored in open play since the FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa on January 4 and has been dropped to the bench for the last two matches - in which time the Gills have scored seven goals.

Stimson said: "His attitude has been spot on. When he's back out there he'll get his goals.

"He'll be the first out on the training pitch and the last one in because he wants to get back in the team."

Stimson's attacking options have been boosted by the return of Mark McCammon to the fold and he came off the bench to score against Aldershot before starting against Macclesfield on Saturday.

"I don't think he'll ever be a crowd favourite because of the way he plays and runs around but it's a team game. The division we're in sometimes you need a player like that to do the horrible stuff," he added.
