Stimson elated at Maher capture

Maher, 32, has finally joined up with Stimson's squad 12 months after opting for a move to Oldham instead of Priestfield. Stimson told the club's official website: "I've been after Kevin for a while. We missed out on him last season because he opted to move to Oldham, but I respected his desire to keep playing at that level. "He will be a fantastic signing for us. I've often talked about the need to add that bit of experience to the team and that's exactly what Kevin will bring to the side. "He can sit in front of the back four in the type of role that Josh Wright filled at the end of last season. "It gives me the option to use that formation if we want to this season."
