Spiller could earn Gills deal
Former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller could be set for a return to the club after impressing on trial.
The 28-year-old, who spent eight years with the Gills after coming through the youth ranks at the Priestfield before joining Millwall in 2007, is a free agent after being released by Dagenham in May.
Spiller, who made a YouTube video of his career highlights in an attempt to find a new club, has impressed boss Andy Hessenthaler during his trial period.
Hessenthaler told the Kent Messenger: "Danny has stood out like a sore thumb. We have a lot of midfield players but I have to say he is looking good in training.
"He played his best football here in the Championship. He's at a good age and he has just been plagued by injuries. He is one that we may consider."
