Southampton v Gillingham

Southampton are set to be without midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin (groin) for the visit of Gillingham. Defender Wayne Thomas is in contention after injury, while boss Alan Pardew is again likely to partner Rickie Lambert with Adam Lallana up front. Gillingham's top scorer Simeon Jackson is a 50:50 injury doubt for the game with a hamstring injury. Fellow striker Mark McCammon is ruled out, although he returned to light training on Thursday. Gillingham boss Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent: We will play one up front, whether it's Jackson or someone else, it's just behind him what we do I have to think about "It [Jackson's injury] is not serious yet and we don't want to make it serious and lose him for four or six weeks. He's got good strength and movement. "It's down to the player to be sensible and try it and see how he feels but we've got to be careful with it. "We'll have a look at all situations in the next training sessions. Whoever gets the shirt and has a go up front I am sure will do his best. "We will play one up front, whether it's Jackson or someone else, it's just behind him what we do I have to think about."
