Skipper at the double in Rovers win

Skipper Ian Thomas-Moore gave Tranmere the ideal start as he headed in from a fifth minute Shaleum Logan cross. Mark Stimson's side were back in the game in the 34th minute when Curtis Weston surprised home goalkeeper Luke Daniels with a fine 20-yard strike into the left corner. The Merseysiders regained the lead three minutes into the second-half with a great volley by John Welsh from 20 yards following a throw-in by Logan. Mark Bentley wasted a good headed chance for Gillingham soon after but they were level again in the 53rd minute when Andy Barcham beat Daniels with a super strike from the corner of the box. Tranmere sent on Terry Gornell for Craig Curran with 20 minutes left and the striker made an immediate impact, firing home from the edge of the box as the visitors defence hesitated, before a Thomas-Moore header completed the scoring in stoppage time.
