Gillingham have secured the services of defender Tony Sinclair. The 25-year-old was an apprentice with the Gills but since leaving the club in 2003 has played for a host of lower league clubs, including Beckenham Town, Fisher Athletic and Welling United. Last season the versatile defender played for Woking, whom he helped reach the Blue Square South play-off final. Sinclair has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend by a further season. And Andy Hessenthaler is delighted with the signing and feels he will be a huge asset. Speaking to the club`s official website, the Gills boss said: "He's decent in the air, is very athletic and offers something we haven't really got at the back. He's 25 years old and I think he can comfortably play in League Two."
