Royce hopes for Gills deal

Gillingham goalkeeper Simon Royce is hoping to earn a new contract to remain at the Priestfield. Royce, 37, has made 48 appearances for the Gills this season and has helped the Kent club reach the League Two play-off final. "I have not been offered anything yet," he revealed. "I would love to stay here, I have made that clear to the manager but obviously finances dictate whether it be here or somewhere else. "I want to carry on playing, but if I don't get offered a contract then my last game will be at Wembley, so how bad is that?"
