Rooney has impressed since his promotion from the youth team at the beginning of the season and his representatives had begun to discuss a new long-term deal with the club.[LNB]That has yet to be agreed, but Stimson insists he is not worried about losing the 18-year-old midfielder.[LNB]Rooney's current contract runs out at the end of this season, although the Gills can take up the option of another year.[LNB]Stimson told the Kent Messenger: "At the moment his contract has been pulled back and we've stopped negotiations. Luke is going to get on with his football and concentrate like he always does. We will probably readdress it in the New Year.[LNB]"We don't need to panic because the boy is under contract with us this season and next. We have an option on him and we'll obviously take it. He can't go anywhere."[LNB][LNB]
