Robson wanting Gillingham stay

10 June 2009 16:44
Gillingham first-team coach Mark Robson is hoping he can agree a deal to stay with the club next season. The 40-year-old was brought to Priestfield by manager Mark Stimson last year but his contract has now expired and he is waiting to see if he is offered a new deal. Robson helped guide the Gills back into League One at the first time of asking last season and is keen to put pen-to-paper soon. "Nothing has been sorted as yet, but I have obviously spoken to Mark," Robson told thisiskent.co.uk "We have not got our heads together yet but it's just a matter of when we do; a case of sticking something down and taking it from there. "I know Mark would like me to stay and I would love to stay. I enjoy working with him and Scott Barrett, but at the end of the day it's not Mark; it's up to the chairman and what he's prepared to offer."
