Point apiece at Edgar Street

Hereford and Gillingham could not be separated after an entertaining battle which ended goalless. The Gills, promotion candidates following their relegation from League One, were the first on the offensive with Chris Palmer having a 30-yard shot turned over the crossbar by Bulls keeper Adam Bartlett. Hereford responded with striker Sean Canham beating the offside trap only to see Adam Julian race off his line to block his shot, before skipper Janos Kovacs turned the ball over the bar as the hosts pushed forward. Gillingham however were unlucky in the 30th minute when Palmer lashed another 30-yard drive against a post with Bartlett stranded. Mark Bentley saw two goalbound headers cleared by Kovacs either side of half-time, while back came the Bulls with Mathieu Manset shooting into the side netting and Stuart Fleetwood flashing an effort across the face of goal. Josh Gowling and Danny Spiller were unlucky not to snatch a later winner for Gillingham as the game ended level.
