Momentum key for Gills boss

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is calling for his side to maintain their momentum as they head into the hectic festive period. Saturday`s 4-2 victory at Macclesfield was the club`s third on the trot, each of which have come away from home, after going six games without a win and all season without tasting success away from home. And speaking after triumphing at the Moss Rose, Hessenthaler said: "Now we've got the bit between our teeth we've just got to keep the momentum going and I'm sure other sides are beginning to look round at us. "After waiting so long for an away win it's fantastic to get three on the trot and of course our confidence is very high." He added: "We'd gone four goals up before at half-time and still lost and that was mentioned once during the break and I told people to be quiet. "In the second half we had to contend with long throws and corners which we knew they'd throw at us but we stayed resilient and defended well as a group and in the end it was quite comfortable. We certainly deserved our win."
