Midfielder relishing Gills chance

The 19-year-old returned to The Valley from a loan spell with Brentford earlier this season and made his debut for the Addicks in October, but has since seen his chances limited and headed out to Kent last week to link up with boss Mark Stimson and former Addicks coach Mark Robson. "I would have stayed at Brentford longer had Charlton not taken me back to play in the first team," said Wright. "I was impressed with Gillingham. I had quite a few offers but as soon as Gillingham came up, it was an appetising offer. I've known Mark Stimson for a long time and I've worked with Mark Robson for many years. "The team is also playing for something and could get automatic promotion or a play-off spot. "Much as Charlton are a big club, it looks like they are going down, although I hope they turn it around. I just wanted to play and the main thing for me is to get 90 minutes' football."
