Gillingham striker Mark McCammon should be fit enough to play in the opening game of the season at Bournemouth in less than three weeks' time.
The 29-year-old, who moved to the Gills from Doncaster Rovers earlier this summer, picked up a hamstring injury during the club's trip to La Manga.
However, he is upbeat about his chances of making a quick recovery, saying: "I'm making steady progress and hopefully I'll be back within a week to ten days.
"I'm going to push for the pre-season games against Ipswich and Birmingham and I've got to keep training and progress as quickly as possible.
"I'll need three or four games to get fit and that's why hopefully I'll get back next week and I'll be ready for the start of the season. It's a good target for me and I should be there or thereabouts."
