The U's had lost manager Paul Lambert to rivals Norwich 24 hours earlier and caretaker boss Joe Dunne saw them fall behind in the 11th minute.[LNB]John Nutter's enterprising run to the by-line saw him cut the ball back and Curtis Weston was on hand to tap in from three yards.[LNB]Colchester equalised seven minutes before half-time through Scott Vernon, who swept home confidently after Kevin Lisbie picked him out.[LNB]The hosts scored the winner midway through the second half when Vernon's immaculate control and pass enabled Lisbie to fire home from 15 yards.[LNB][LNB]
