Lions win was best yet for Stimson

Stunning first-half goals from Andy Barcham and Curtis Weston earned the hosts a 2-0 win, but that did not tell the story of their dominance. Leading scorer Simeon Jackson also had a goal ruled out for offside and they missed several good chances. But Stimson said: "In the first 45 minutes we were absolutely brilliant and it was a shame we were only 2-0 up. It's the best performance since I've been at the club. I hoped we were going to maintain that level in the second half but we were so good I knew that wouldn't be possible. "We scored two fantastic goals - we've been encouraging the lads to shoot from distance and it's great when something you've been working on comes off. "There's no easy games in this league and we were playing against a team who came really close last year. They had a few players missing but it was still a tough game - maybe we made it look easier than it was after playing so well."
