Lawrence likely to miss out

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is likely to be without defender Matt Lawrence for the trip to Crewe. The right-back limped out of the 3-1 midweek win over Rotherham after 25 minutes with a thigh/groin problem and is almost certain to miss out against the Railwaymen. Winger Andy Barcham will miss out again after receiving another injection to treat his ankle injury, while defender Josh Gowling (knock) and midfielder Joe Martin (cheekbone) also miss out. However, defenders Tony Sinclair, Garry Richards and Simon King will be involved despite all suffering from ankle problems. Sinclair returns to the matchday squad hoping for his first appearance since November 23, while Richards retains his place despite undergoing an injection. King is also fine to retain his place despite playing 65 minutes on his return from almost 19 months on the sidelines against the Millers.
