The centre-back was man of the match as the Gills won promotion by beating Shrewsbury at Wembley on Saturday and after a season playing against the likes of Accrington and Morecambe, the Kent club will now be lining up against Charlton, Southampton, Norwich and Leeds next season. "It's brilliant," said King. "The prospect of playing teams like Charlton, Southampton and Norwich away, it's going to be absolutely brilliant. "As a footballer, you want to play at these big grounds in front of big crowds so you've got to enjoy the moment." Being man of the match at Wembley was another accolade in a season which saw King win four player of the year prizes, but he was quick to praise his team-mates for their performances. "Any one of the starting XI deserved it," he added. "On the day no-one let the game pass them by, everyone put a hard graft in, no-one really froze and I think any one of us could have got man of the match."
