King missing for Gills

Gillingham host Northampton without Simon King after the defender suffered a further injury setback. The 27-year-old did not feature in the 5-1 victory over Stockport after suffering a bad reaction in training to his ankle injury. Manager Andy Hessenthaler said: "He has been working very hard and he is still going to be a little sore with that ankle for a long time and we have to manage him a little bit better." Full-back Matt Lawrence could switch to the centre of defence to cover King. Midfielder Luke Rooney has joined Eastbourne on loan while forward Cody McDonald could be handed a starting berth after his hattrick at Edgeley Park. Hessenthaler will also face a wait to see if midfielder Joe Martin has recovered in time from a hamstring injury.
