Gillingham defender Simon King has stepped up his rehabilitation from a long-term injury by jogging for the first time.
The influential centre-half suffered ankle ligament damage in a pre-season friendly and he has been sidelined with the problem ever since.
King has faced a long road of recovery battling to regain fitness but he is finally nearing a return, much to the delight of boss Mark Stimson.
"Simon has been given some really good news and he is buzzing," he told the club's official website. "He'll start over the next couple of days and that is brilliant for him because he's done some really hard work.
"We have to monitor him every couple of days to see how he feels and what reaction he's getting. Touch wood he won't get a lot and then we can step him up a little bit more."
