Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson has resigned with immediate effect in the wake of his side's poor start to the season.
Jepson made his intentions known after meeting with Gills chairman Paul Scally on Sunday morning.
The League One side are in the relegation zone after losing five of their opening six games of the season.
Jepson took charge at Priestfield in November 2005 following in the footsteps of Neale Cooper.
