Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson is keen to bring Sheffield United striker Gary Mulligan back to the club, after injury ended his initial loan spell.
The 20-year-old Irishman made four appearances for the Gills before picking up an injury against Doncaster Rovers, but has made a quick recovery after returning to Sheffield United.
Jepson told BBC Radio Kent: "I spoke to Gary earlier on this week and he is responding well to treatment.
"Hopefully we can bring him back on board. If we can get him back it would be a real bonus for us.
"He's got an unbelievable work ethic and possesses all the attributes I like in a player."
