Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson hopes to add several more new faces to his squad before the season starts in just over two weeks' time.
Jepson has already signed six players this summer following last term's flirtation with relegation and used all of them in the pre-season clash against Dover which the Gills won 4-1.
He told the Kent Messenger: "Building up the fitness is the most important thing at this stage, as well as adding one or two new faces to the squad.
"The new lads that came in did okay. The players aren't at their sharpest because we've been doing a lot of leg work and over the next couple of weeks we'll sharpen up.
"Obviously I need players in and I'm looking for one or two more strikers and a couple of midfielders and maybe another centre-half."
