Jarvis snubs Gills offer

Highly-rated midfielder Matthew Jarvis has turned down the offer of a new contract to keep him at Gillingham, according to chairman Paul Scally.
Jarvis, who is being linked with a £250,000 switch to Championship sides Stoke and Plymouth, has been offered a huge deal to keep him at the Priestfield Stadium, but Scally fears the worst.
He told The Observer: "We put the biggest offer ever made in the history of this club to Matt Jarvis for a player of his age and standing, but his agent has already turned it down. We have not given up hope of keeping him.
"The problem is that his agent is Mark Curtis, who knows he will make no money by his client staying at Gillingham. The final decision will be the player's and we hope he will stay."
