Jarvis fitness boost

Gillingham have been handed the welcome news that the knee injury midfielder Matthew Jarvis picked up in training last week is not too serious.

The 20-year-old was ruled out of Saturday's 2-2 draw against Brentford because of the injury, but boss Ronnie Jepson has confirmed that he should be in action again very soon.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "Matt felt his knee last Thursday and did not think it was up to playing at the weekend.

"But he has had a scan on it and there are no problems with it.

"The knee was just a little bit stiff and so we just didn't take any risks with him."
