Jackson wins January award

Gillingham forward Simeon Jackson has scooped the fans' League Two Player of the Month award for January. Jackson hit the headlines in early January after netting against Aston Villa in the Gills' FA Cup tie with the Premier League giants, one of 13 strikes this season. The Jamaican-born striker, who represents Canada at Under-20 level, netted twice more throughout January in a string of impressive displays. The 21-year-old's profile has been raised significantly, linking him with moves higher up the Football League.
