Hess threatens Gills squad

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has threatened to put all of his side up for sale after Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup defeat at home to non-league minnows Dover. The Gills boss has pledged his future to the club despite a poor run of results and has admitted he might have to get rid of the under-performing players to improve the club's fortunes on the pitch. "I might have to clear the decks," he told Kent Online. "If it means putting them all on the transfer list, I'll do that. Let's see how many teams come in for our players. I bet there aren't many. We need to get some proper characters into the football club." Hessenthaler also commented on his future at Priestfields. "Since I've been at the club I've put every hour and every minute into it that I can," he added. "(The chairman) knows I care about the club and I believe in my own ability. He believes he's got the right man and whether we have the right players or not, I don't know. As a manager, the buck stops with me."
