Hess: Players affected by fan fury

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has admitted that fans' booing is affecting his squad as they search for their first win this season. The Gills were booed at half-time and at the final whistle as they lost 1-0 at home to Lincoln at the weekend. "It does affect the players but the fans have got a right to do what they do because they pay their money," Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent. "It certainly doesn't help because we've got some young players. "I'm not going to knock the fans - I'm not that type of person because this club's a fantastic club. "I understand their frustrations and at home the expectations are high and maybe the players are a bit nervous about that. We've got to get them out of that."
