Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler praised his side's work rate, while conceding they were not at their best, during the 1-0 win over Stevenage. Adebayo Akinfenwa's header seven minutes before half-time made it five consecutive wins for the Gills, who have moved into the play-off places. "We are on a bit of a roll," said Hessenthaler. "It was not a classic by any means. It was very scrappy at times and we have to be delighted with the win. "We worked very hard and we were resilient when we needed to be. "I thought they had the bulk of possession and we sat too deep at times, but we limited them in front of goal. "We defended for our lives."
