Hess hails unbeaten Gills

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler praised his side after they put last week's disappointing performance against Hereford behind them to win 4-0 at Lincoln and extend their unbeaten run to 15 matches. Josh Gowling put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute and Cody McDonald made it two before the break, with a Danny Hone own goal and Adebayo Akinfenwa's header sealing the win. "It was a disappointing match last week and we needed to bounce back. We certainly did that," said Hessenthaler. "It was a tremendous performance from the players with some very good goals. People had started to write us off but we still believe we can get promoted. "We've got five games left. It's a five-game season for us and we want to go unbeaten to make it 20 games. "We've got a lot of belief. We've got players back from injury and we're a settled side. I just told the players to relax and go for it. They've worked so hard to get into this position and we don't want to throw it all away now."
