Hess confident of improval

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has insisted his side are not facing a relegation battle. The 3-1 defeat to Crewe at the weekend saw the Gills slump to 22nd place in League Two after their fourth successive defeat. Despite no win in six games and only goal difference keeping them out of the bottom two, under pressure Hessenthaler feels his side should be looking up the table rather than worrying about relegation. "We're not really in a relegation battle," he told Kent Online. "I think we've got to look at 30 games to go. The next game's the most important game, that's what we've decided. "We won't stop looking at the play-offs. People say you're in a relegation battle, but you're nine points off the play-offs."
