The 37-year-old was a virtual ever present for the Gills last season, but contract talks appeared to have stalled after he revealed the two parties were "miles apart" in negotiations when he went on holiday last month. However, a deal has now been reached that will see the former QPR stopper spend a third campaign at Priestfield, although he is expected to face even tougher competition from Alan Julian for a regular spot this season. Meanwhile, two Gills players have been in friendly action ahead of this month's CONCACAF Gold Cup. Top scorer Simeon Jackson won his second cap for Canada as they beat Guatemala 3-0, while youth-team defender Rimmel Daniel marked his senior debut for Grenada with a goal as they drew 2-2 with Antigua.
