Gills youngster turns pro

Gillingham have handed a first professional contract to youth team player Jack Payne.
The midfielder signed apprentice forms at the Priestfield Stadium in August and was quickly figuring in the Gills reserves.
Payne's form has also been rewarded with two first-team outings by manager Mark Stimson, figuring in wins against Chester City and Morecambe.
Payne's professional forms will keep him at the club until the end of the 2009-10 season.
