Gills swoop for Flinders

Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson has made a breakthrough in the transfer market by securing the services of Crystal Palace goalkeeper Scott Flinders on a one-month loan deal. The 20-year-old only joined the Eagles from Championship rivals Barnsley in the close season, but he has yet to make a first-team appearance due to Gabor Kiraly's domination of the number one jersey at Selhurst Park. As a result Eagles boss Peter Taylor has agreed to loan him to the Gills in a bid to let him gain some valuable first-team experience. He is in line to make his debut in the League One clash against managerless Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue on Saturday.
