Gillingham have finally given up in their efforts to keep captain Michael Flynn at the Priestfield for next season.
The 26-year-old midfielder is out of contract this summer and has rejected a new deal offered by disappointed chairman Paul Scally.
Flynn top-scored for the Gills last season after netting 12 times from midfield.
"We have made him a very good offer but he has turned it down," Scally told the Kent Messenger.
"We are not here as a convenience for people."
