Gillingham have landed former Southend United defender Efe Sodje on a two-year deal.
The 34-year-old made 36 appearances for the Shrimpers last season but was allowed to leave Roots Hall following their relegation from the Championship.
Sodje has made more than 300 Football League appearances during ten years in England with seven different clubs.
Meanwhile, Gills boss Ronnie Jepson has revealed he is still keen to strengthen his squad despite already signing six new players this summer.
"I'm looking for another striker, another couple of central midfield players, another centre-half and I need another goalkeeper," he told the club's official website.
