Gills land veteran Lomas
01 Aug 2007 - 08:23:26
Gillingham have signed veteran midfielder Steve Lomas on a free transfer following his release by Queens Park Rangers.
The 33-year-old Northern Ireland international has signed a one-year contract at Priestfield, with an option for a further 12 months.
Lomas has played 45 times for his country, making his name in club football with Manchester City and West Ham United, before moving to Loftus Road in the summer of 2005.
Manager Ronnie Jepson told the club's official website: "Steve is a tremendous signing for the club and will be an excellent addition to our squad."
Chairman Paul Scally added: "Steve has played at the highest level but still has tremendous enthusiasm for the game. He will be a great asset."
