Gills go for Flynn

Stan Ternent has snapped up Wigan Athletic midfielder Michael Flynn as he looks to guide Gillingham away from the Championship relegation zone.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract with the Gills.

Flynn moved to the Latics from Barry Town in June 2002 for £15,000, but although he made 37 league appearances for Paul Jewell's side, 32 of those were from the substitute's bench.

He played seven games for Blackpool while on loan with the Seasiders earlier this season.
