Gillingham have wrapped up the signing of Southend United midfielder Kevin Maher on loan until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has been out of the first-team at Roots Hall since the turn of the year and will add valuable experience to the struggling Gills squad.
Manager Mark Stimson told the club's official website: "It is fantastic news that Kevin has finally signed for us.
"We have brought him in to add that extra bit of experience, which will be vital with the predicament we are in. He is an excellent passer, is very vocal and can read the game very well."
Maher, a former Tottenham Hotspur trainee, has been with the Shrimpers just over a decade, scoring 25 goals in 455 appearances in all competitions for the Blues.
