Gills braced for Jackson interest

Jackson made it four in two games with the opener as the Gills beat Plymouth 2-1 in the Carling Cup, with a host of Premier League and Championship clubs in attendance. "The kid's on form," manager Mark Stimson said. "He was hot on Monday in training and he brought that to the pitch. It was one of the best performances I have seen in his overall game and there were some big scouts here unfortunately. "No disrespect to the Plymouth team and our other players but they were only here to watch one person. If I was a scout working for the teams which were here, I would be ticking all the boxes. There are certain scouts' names who I know who are quite senior and if they are at a game they are watching someone with a view of seriously looking at someone. "If someone actually comes up with a bid of some sorts then it could become a little bit sticky, but he is happy and he is playing with freedom, a smile on his face and is scoring goals. We just have to try and maintain that. "We desperately don't want to sell him because he is a major part of what we've got. I don't think Manchester United wanted to sell their main man but unfortunately money talks."
