Gills allow Walder to leave

Gillingham have agreed to cancel the contract of defender Danny Walder, who has been on loan with Ryman Premier League side Ramsgate.

The right-back is a graduate from the club's youth set-up, but failed to break into the first team at the Prestfield Stadium.

Meanwhile, Gills boss Mark Stimson has admitted that young star Simeon Jackson's future will lie away from the League Two side.

Stimson did say he hopes to be able to keep hold of Jackson at least until the end of the season.

A string of impressive performances culminating in the Gill's televised FA Cup tie with Aston Villa has linked the Jamaican-born player with a move to a club in a higher league.

Stimson said: "He will one day play at a higher division than League Two, but hopefully not in the next three to six months."
