Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson has urged highly-rated youngster Matt Jarvis to remain at the Priestfield despite reported interest from several Premiership clubs.
The 20-year-old has progressed through the ranks at the League One club, but after an impressive start to the season at the heart of the midfield, he has been reportedly attracting interest from a host of top London clubs.
"Matty is the perfect example of the strength of the youth programme, having progressed through the ranks to make his senior debut as a 17-year-old in 2003," Jepson told the club's official website.
"As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to see Matty Jarvis here for a long, long time. Not just as a player, but as a lad as well.
"He is a credit to himself and his family, how he conducts himself on and around the ground, on the training ground and he always gives you 100 per cent on the pitch.
"He's the type of lad I want to keep here, not to sell."
